The Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria (REAN) is an independent, non-profit Industry association founded by stakeholders in the Renewable Energy sector in Nigeria.

We are an industry association of Renewable Energy professionals, project developers, and practitioners that promotes the interest of the private sector in Nigeria’s Renewable Energy sector. The Association’s constitution was ratified on the 18th of August 2016 while it was formally launched on the 24th of November 2016. REAN is dedicated to promoting the growth and development of the industry in Nigeria by engaging with the public and private sectors to guide advocacy, policy formulation, and investment in the sector.

Role Overview

The Executive Secretary role is a full-time administrative role. The Job Holder is largely responsible for driving the actualization of the    REAN’s strategic plan and managing the REAN secretariat.

   4.

   Overall Responsibilities

   4.1

 Strategy

    a. Promote a REAN culture in alignment with our Core values of CIISAQ(Collaboration, Inclusion, Innovation, Sustainability, Accountability, & Quality).

    b. Collaborate with EXCO to drive the development and implementation of REAN’s overall strategic plan annually.

   c. Drive the strategy and KPI development from the newly created overarching objectives to guide annual activities.

   d. Co-ordinate strategic planning sessions with EXCO.

   e. Develop and manage sustainable donor partnerships for the good of the association.

 

   4.2

  Administration

    a. Establish administrative Standard of Operations and procedures for all secretariat functions.

    b. Ensure the existence of an adequate framework to run REAN activities.

    c. Planning and managing of operational budget as provided by the constitution

    d. Supervise and co-ordinate the secretariat team.

    e. Manage the maintenance of all association records as provided by the constitution: These records includes:  

                – Official records of member organizations.

                – Registration documents, seal, articles of Incorporation.

                – Directors’ lists, board and committee meeting minutes,

                – Financial reports and other official records.

    f. Oversee and service all related and approved meetings and provided by the constitution.

    g. Other duties as demanded in fulfillment of  REAN’s strategy and objectives.

 


      Strategic Communication

    a. Serve as the Public Relations front for REAN.

    b. Establish and maintain partnerships and relationships with various organizations within the eco-space to strategically drive REAN’s mission.

    c. Manages general correspondence of the Board of Directors except for such correspondence assigned to others.

    d. Maintain the association’s telephone, computer, and email systems and website.

    e. Work closely with EXCO to ensure the REAN’s communication objectives are attained.

    f. Build and maintain mutually rewarding relationships with external media (local and international).

 

  4.3

  Qualification

  • –  At least 3-5  years relevant experience in a managerial role in the Renewable energy sector.
  • –  Working knowledge and understanding of the Nigerian RE sector, policies and framework.
  • –  A post-graduate degree in related areas of Energy/ Renewable energy/Sustainability.

  Required Competencies

 

The job holder must be able to demonstrate appropriate skills and experience which will enable him/her to deliver against the main purpose and key responsibilities of the role. More specifically, the following competencies are essential to succeed in the role:
