Energy access is crucial for the economic growth and development of any country. According to a report, Nigeria is the biggest economy in sub-Saharan Africa, with an estimated population of over 200 million. However, despite these figures, access to electricity remains a major challenge in the country, with reports indicating that over 80 million households lack electricity.

The Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria (REAN) is fully committed to promoting strategies that will increase the contribution of renewable energy (RE) to forty percent (40%) of the National Energy Mix by 2030. REAN has strategically engaged with the public and private sectors to support Nigeria’s transition to clean energy. To provide energy access to unserved and underserved communities by harnessing and utilizing renewable energy sources.

Continuing its Energy Access Roadshow across the 36 states of Nigeria, REAN is excited to engage stakeholders in Northern Nigeria, starting with Adamawa state. In collaboration with the German-Nigeria Hydrogen Office (GIZ), REAN is pleased to invite stakeholders to its upcoming Energy Access Roadshow scheduled to be held on 1st August in Adamawa State.

This program initially started in the Niger-Delta region in Q1 of 2023 and aims to promote the transition to clean energy sources across Nigeria through creating awareness and building the capacity of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The program equips participants with valuable information, networking platforms, and guidance to facilitate business growth, ultimately leading to the decentralization and nationwide adoption of renewable energy and the emergence of renewable energy developers across the country.

The event has been rescheduled for Tuesday, 8th August 2023, in Adamawa State.
