REAN, NADDC Building Ties to Promote the Use of Renewable Energy for Electric Vehicles’ Charging Infrastructure Stations Across Nigeria
Abuja, August 3, 2023 – The Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria (REAN) embarked on collaborating efforts towards promoting renewable energy in the Electric Vehicle sector in Nigeria. In an advocacy visit to the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) on potential collaboration, led by Mr. Ayo Ademilua (MBA), President of REAN, met with Mr. Jelani Aliyu (MFR), Director General of NADDC, to discuss collaborative measures that will promote the utilization of renewable energy for Electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure stations in Nigeria.
The National Automotive Design and Development Council, renowned for its commitment to positioning Nigeria as one of the leading automotive manufacturing nations in the world, recognizes the potential of aligning with REAN’s vision for sustainable energy solutions. In tandem, REAN’s E-mobility Working Group, made up of members with interest in deploying investments in the sector, will be working with the NADDC team to deliver on the E-mobility component of Nigeria’s Energy Transition Plan (NETP).
REAN, an association in mission to enable and encourage the sustainable development of the Nigerian economy through renewable energy, appreciates Mr. Jelani Aliyu (MFR) and the NADDC management for the insightful discussions on how both industries can harness their respective potentials to contribute to Nigeria’s economic development while also working towards reducing carbon emissions through the use of EVs.
