Bassey Obeten
Born in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. Bassey has spent the last 15 years raising awareness locally and internationally about climate action, renewable energy, and the role of the girl child in bridging the gender gap in STEM with a keen focus on solar technology and waste recycling.
Bassey Obeten holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Calabar, and a Masters of Public Health (MPH)-Environmental health science from the University of Ibadan. He is also certified in “focus on best practices in Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency” by the GIZ Nigerian Energy Support Programme (NESP), Self-Consumption with Renewable Energies in Industry and Trade by Renewable Energy Academy RENAC, Berlin Germany and several other certifications.
In the last 6 years, he has been saddled with the responsibility of inter-agency relations, research and development, strengthening relationship with bilateral and multilateral partners. He currently serves as the Technical Director of the BEMORE Empowered Girls’ foundation.
