Dr. Tosin Akande
Dr. Tosin Akande is a Global Development and Renewable Energy Specialist with a BA degree in Governance and Public Policy from Syracuse University as well as M.Sc & PhD degrees in Socio-Economic Development from the London School of Economics (LSE) and the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, respectively.
With 15 years of cumulative experience across the U.S., U.K., and Nigeria in buildings construction, water utilities, and sustainable energy verticals, her career stints have been with the City of Baltimore Department of Housing, World Bank-DFID GEMS 2, RED Universal Consulting, UKAID BIF2, and PowerCap Limited.
Tosin brings applied expertise in infrastructure development, clean energy systems, client engagement, deal origination, strategic partnership facilitation, and project management to REAN. She looks forward to working with all pivotal voices in Nigeria’s RE ecosystem and global off-grid sector to increase power supply geometrically throughout Nigeria. She is a member of the African Women in Energy Development Initiative (AWEDI) network.
