Vacancy: Business Development Manager

Job Summary: The incumbent will lead the company’s business development efforts, from Business Planning/Budgeting to execution, and supervise personnel to achieve the company’s set business objectives and targets. He/She will be responsible for regular market reviews, products search, and selection to bring onboard new products/technology that fit the company’s portfolio. General interaction with customers, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), local products vendors, and running the day-to-day operations of the company. 

Responsibilities:

– Ability to manage the day-to-day operations of the company, involving Site Energy Audits, Solar system design & installations, supervising employees, and handling customer complaints, while ensuring installations are to the standard set by the company

– Develop the company’s business by keeping up with new innovations in the Solar industry, and searching for products applicable to the Nigerian electricity supply fluctuations. Successful candidate will be guided by the company’s products selection matrix, used for products accreditation

 Ability to work with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to purchase and import products. Also, liaise with local vendors towards procurement of solar products and installation accessories

– Have deep knowledge and understanding of solar systems; ability to analyse equipment specifications with cost comparison to ensure we obtain value from our products purchases

– Secure both Individual and corporate clientele for Treffen solar solutions to make sales and achieve sales targets set in the company’s annual Business Plan 

– Generate prospects and move those prospects towards turning them into actual customers for our products and services 

– Manage the process of conducting Site Energy Audit, (SEA), supervise the Engineers and Supervise prompt engineering design of solar systems; review and affirm the design for issuance to prospective clients within 48 hours of conducting the SEA

– Prepare PowerPoint presentations for corporate prospective clients; also prepare tenders for such corporate clients and follow up to a logical conclusion

– Make spot site visits during field solar systems installation works and commissioning to assure safe and appropriate work ethics on site  

– Prepare weekly, monthly and annual reports

– Coordinate and actively lead marketing efforts and plan / attend strategic marketing meetings as may be necessary. Drive marketing efforts to improve sales

– Take full responsibility for ensuring that all installation projects are concluded within budgeted time, cost, and resources

– Participate in Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria (REAN) activities, attend conferences, meetings, and industry events

– Conduct an annual review of the business performance against plan and recommend improvement opportunities. Use results of the previous year to develop business plan for the incoming year. Work to grow the business

– Know, live and effectively communicate the company’s Core Values and imbibe in engagements with key stakeholders and leverage to provide winning opportunities for partnerships, networking, and cooperation within and outside the Renewable Energy industry

Qualifications:

The following Education and most importantly, soft skills and abilities are required for success in this job:

– Minimum education of B.Sc in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with at least a 2:1 degree is required. An MBA degree with a specialty in Marketing or Sales will be added advantage

– Minimum of 5 years post qualification working knowledge and acquired experience as a Business Development Manager or similar role is required  

– Peoples skills in building a cohesive workforce, handling difficult situations with customers and vendors are required for success on this job

– Some knowledge of finance, reading and interpreting financial statements, and projecting/benchmarking financial performance is a requirement for the successful candidate

– Ability to prepare clear concise presentations and confidently present / communicate same is essential for success in this job

– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills is required for success on this job

– Must have the ability to recognize and take advantage of opportunities quickly

– Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision
